Based in Bendigo, Victoria, Dja Dja Wurrung Enterprises Pty Ltd, trading as DJANDAK, is owned and operated by Dja Dja Wurrung Traditional Owners of Central Victoria. DJANDAK (the Enterprise) works on Djandak (Dja Dja Wurrung Country).

We are committed to restoring health to Djandak (Dja Dja Wurrung Country) for the benefit of all who are privileged to share Djandak. We share custodianship of this place. DJANDAK is a Djaara (Dja Dja Wurrung People) owned and run business operating on our traditional lands.  

We are leading the way in applying First Nations connection to Country to our modern context as a competitive commercial enterprise. DJANDAK works for the economic development of Djaara People. We are purpose-driven, our mission is to return Djandak to good health while walking with our People along the path to self-determination.

DJANDAK specialises in embedding Djaara values and Djaara aspirations into the environment, policy and infrastructure. Our highly skilled, professional teams have a broad range of disciplines and experiences that work collaboratively on a diverse range of projects. We work in partnership with Government bodies, local industries and the broader community.

When you engage DJANDAK you play an integral part in keeping Djandak (Dja Dja Wurrung Country) healthy and supporting Djaara (Dja Dja Wurrung People). This support has great impact now and for future generations.

Natural Resource Management

We provide a range of environmental and landscaping services, using Djaara cultural and ecological knowledge. Our NRM activities include revegetation, weed management, pest animal control and game management.

We perform arboricultural and large scale tree works to improve forest health and inform management of open spaces and broad-acre grasslands.

We are focused on returning good health to Djandak and to help Djaara People get back onto Country. We are in partnership with DEECA and other agencies to deliver the Joint Fuel Management Program across Djandak.

DJANDAK is a diverse, growing business which puts Dja Dja Wurrung values, culture and well-being at the centre of our projects. We deliver projects of all types and sizes, for a range of clients and organisations. We emphasise a holistic, multi-disciplinary approach which draws on the professional expertise and cultural knowledge of Djaara People and all our staff. Our major projects benefit from collaborative input across the Dja Dja Wurrung Group to ensure we provide reliable, cost effective, culturally appropriate outcomes for our clients and our stakeholders, while we work towards delivering on the aspirations of Djaara as described in Dhelkunya Dja (Dja Dja Wurrung Country Plan). At DJANDAK we have Djaa Walatjalang (Love of Country).

Established in 2014 DJANDAK, meaning ‘Country’ in Dja Dja Wurrung language, is committed to self-determination and community wellbeing by establishing a sustainable economic foundation.

DJANDAK embodies the essence of a ‘traditional way of business’, combining contemporary economic pursuits with the preservation of our rich Dja Dja Wurrung culture.

DJANDAK fuses cultural integrity with sustainable economic growth. With ambitious goals, a commitment to Djaara values, and a visionary approach, DJANDAK is not only leading across Country, but is also a model of responsible and culturally attuned business practices.
